Bible Passages to Help You Cast Out Fear

Looking around at the culture today gives many Christians plenty of reasons to be confronted by fear.  At times, it appears as if the world is running headlong toward destruction.  Even on good days, the idea of running our businesses for God and His purposes can cause real fear to enter our hearts.  If that is true for you, please read on for a guaranteed solution.

cast out fear
My words will be few in today’s post.  Below, I have listed seven of the most common fears for Christian business owners and leaders.  As an antidote to each fear, I have listed several passages from God’s Word.
Take your time with each fear and ask yourself if that is something you have experienced.  Don’t rush – the answer may not be immediately obvious.  Pray as you do this.  Then read the verses for each fear.  Ask yourself if you believe God and His promises.  If you do, store these words in your heart to combat the fear.

Fear in General

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Philippians 4:6

I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.
Psalm 34:4

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
2 Timothy 1:7

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:9

 Fear of Loss

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:19-21

Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways.
Proverbs 28:6

 Fear of Weakness

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my
weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
Romans 8:26

But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.
Deuteronomy 31:6

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39

I would encourage you to save this post for reference in the future.  You can also search the Bible for more passages on each fear.  There are plenty more in addition to these!  Just remember that God does not give us fear, but He absolutely provides the answer for it.

Trust Him.  He is faithful!
